About our Council :

 

The Council For The Indian School Certificate Examination Was Established In the Year 1958 by The University of Cambridge Local Examination Syndicate with The Assistance Of Inter-State Board for Anglo-Indian Education Which Is Registered Under The Societies Act No.XXX Of 1860.The ISC Exam is Developed and Planned In Line With The Current Education Policy Regulations of 1986.

 

  1. The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) that conducts the Board of Examination for Class X known as the Indian Council for Secondary Education (ICSE) Examinations, and the Board of Examination XII, known as the Indian School Certificate (ISC) Examinations through the medium of English.

 

  1. The examination will ensure a general education and all candidates are required to enter for six subjects and Socially Useful Productive Work (SUPW).

 

  1. The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination is a school examination and the standard of examination presupposes a school course of ten years duration (Classes I to X).

Sports

Physical Education :

  • Students will be freely allowed to play games in our school ground during their physical education class, besides doing exercises to keep them fit.
  • For all the students’ games like Football, Hockey, Volley ball, Throw ball, Kabbadi, Kho-K0ho, Discus throw, Javelin, Shot-put, Shuttle, Athletics etc. will be conducted.
  • After giving continuous practices to the students, they will be sent to the sports events conducted by ICSE board sports and games organisation.

Extra-Curricular Activities

“To be a great champion you must believe, you are the best, if you are not; keep on trying”.

Sports, games and physical fitness occupy a place of importance in our curriculum. Our students participated in different sports. In the month of July 22nd Girls Throw Ball team went to Tirupur for CISCE girls throw ball tournament conducted by Global school and our players went up till semi-finals. Sree Haasini of VIII was titled as a player of the match. There are many more events and learning activities that we conducted in school, which you all are aware of with the pictures that we were sharing with you from time to time.

Yellow day was celebrated with great Zeal and enthusiasm with Pre Kg wing on 1st August 2022. All the Pre Kg students and teachers came to school dressed in pretty yellow attires. Many activities and games pertaining to yellow colour were organized for the kids.

In the month of August 3rd and 4th our students went to Sishya School to participate in CISCE Athletic meet held in Nehru Stadium Chennai. They took part in 100m, 200m, 400m, 1000m, 3000m, disc throw, short put, short jump, high jump. Sriram Nagabooshanam of Grade IX, Altaaf Peeran of Grade VIII, Mohammed Athif of Grade VI – were stood 3rd position in semi-finals. In the month of August 10th CICSE- Cluster of Kabadi tournament at Excel School in Marthandam in Kanyakumari, around 40 schools particticipated in the event and we scored first place.

On 10th of August handwriting competition had been conducted by ‘Olympiad’ and our students Prithivee Chozhan from class III, Iniya from class IV, Harshamithra from class VI, Hoorulain Fathima from class VII, Pranav from class VII received gold medal. I am immensely pleased to inform you that Nuha from class VII was awarded with cash prize of Rs.1000 and Gold medal for her best essay writing in National Level essay competition.

On 5th Green day was conducted for the students of grade I and II and they wore green dress and gave the message revealing the importance of being eco-friendly and need for green India. Skill day was conducted on August 13th many of our students have taken part in various competition and exhibited their talents. Social Activity day was conducted on September 5th in which awareness were given on various social evils like child labour, child abuse and deprive of fundamental rights.

“A teacher revives the past, create the present and streamlines the future for the children”. On our TEACHER’S DAY the students recollected the contribution of the teachers in shaping up their lives and thus creating the new society. With due respect, the school paid homage to Dr. S.RADHAKRISHNAN, the icon of every teacher.

Extra Curricular Activities

Extra-Curricular activities are a part and parcel of the holistic education offered at CIS. Studies have shown that students who participate in extracurricular activities have a marked improvement in their grades. CIS offers many extracurricular activities like Bharatanatyam ,Karate, Silambam, Keyboard, Guitar and Drum which teach Children how to be social in many different situation. They are coordinated and conducted under the auspices guidance of experts. More than 300 students are actively participating in every activities.

ICSE National open karate championship was held in Vales International School, Chennai. This was a prestigious competition in which all the ICSE schools from all over Tamil Nadu participated. It was a National open level competition in which our school students both boys and girls have won 4 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 8 bronze medals. Our ICSE students won the overall karate championship trophy. We congratulate our Karate Master and Physical director for their guidance.

Six students have been selected for nationals are: Vishalini of grade VIII , Rahini of grade VII ,Bakka Logeshwar Reddy of grade VIII, Samritha of grade VII, Rohan of grade VII , C.Tharshan of grade VII. I’m immensely pleased to inform you that Samritha of Grade VII- has won the gold medal in National Karate Competition conducted by CISCE which was held in Rahul Dravid Stadium at Bangalore and also been selected for International Level.

Olympiad exams help to create competitive awareness among students at school, National and Global level. These exams aim to improve problem solving ability and analytical thinking skills of students. As a student prepares and competes in such competitive exams, they build a positive academic foundation.

Our young CIS students actively participated in Humming Bird Olympiad and won gold, silver and bronze medals in the various subject categories. They were awarded a medal as well as a certificate for their achievements. CIS family is proud of their efforts and achievements and wishes them all the best for their future endeavours.

Science Expo was organised in our school on January 6th. The Students of CIS unveiled their flair through their working models and non-working models in science subjects.

  • Students of Lower Primary Department performed in ‘Theme Based manner’.
  • Middle primary Department performed experiments on amazing facts in Science.
  • Upper Primary Department students performed experiments on various working models and non-working models.

The chief guest for the exhibition was Mr. S.Balu Former AGM, Indian Bank and Advocate of Madras High Court. The exhibition started at 9am and was open to all the parents and students of the school. As the exhibition started at 9am various students presented their projects. Models of solar power energy, space satellite, hydroelectric generators, AC and DC motors automatic transformers and robots were built by the students. The festival of Pongal unites all family together. It is the festival of life thanking god for the wonders he done to farmers. On 13th of January the school celebrated Pongal to propagate and revitalize the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu. The students exhibited their creativity through dance, rangoli to mark the spirit of the festival.

The school encourages to participate actively in sports and games. “If you train hard you will not only be hard, you will be hard to beat”.

On JANUARY 26th the occasion of Republic Day, Annual Sports meet was conducted with pomp and splendour, track and field events were thrilling and exciting. Various skills such as march past and thematic cultural programs were displayed. Chief Gueat Mr.K.Parasuraman former Member of Parliament graced the occasion and honoured the achievers. National flag was hoisted by our Honourable Chairman and Olympic flag was hoisted by our respected correspondent. Our Principal hoisted the ICSE council flag.

Olympic torch was handed over to all the National Players and was finally lightened up by our International Kabadi Player Sriram Nagabooshanam of Grade IX.

  • By using Pom Pom and free hand drill performance was given by the students of Lower Primary Department.
  • With wands, Hoops and Dumbbells the students of Middle Primary Department showed their performance in drills.
  • Students of Upper Primary Department performed dance using Lezims as Props.
  • The overall champion rolling Trophy was grabbed by “Summer Team” of our school.
  • National, International and State winners were appreciated and received prizes.
  • Cancer Awarness program was conducted by caring Souls Foundation, Lucknow through its Tamil Nadu State organizer Mrs. Janet on 20.2.23.

  • Green day conducted by grade 1 and 2 on August 12.
  • All students wore Green color dresses and brought green color food items.
  • Skill day conducted on August 13th. Many students scored prizes in different extra circular activities.
  • Independence Day was celebrated in a grand manner with all talent activities like Karate, Silambam, Music, and Dance. Silambam grading was also conducted on the same day.
  • Green day was celebrated by our Grade I and II students in which they wore Green colour dresses and identified Green colour things. It was conducted on September 5.
  • Social activity day was conducted on September 5 in which awareness was given on different social evils, like protect Earth, child labour. Child abuse and fundamental rights. We congratulate all our lower primary, KG and Middle primary teachers.

Visit & Excursion

  • Year wise visit to old age homes is a part of our ICSE curriculum in the form of compulsory subject called SUPW.
  • Making the school children to Visit to IIFPT yearly as a field trip to know about the food production process and knowing the values, nutrition, healthy advantage of consuming of millets.
  • Visit to reviving our cultural heritage by accompanying the students to the carpentry workshop of musical instrument and to know the significance, benefits of traditional Panchaloka statues and Thanjavur paintings.
  • A trip to Marungulam Botanical garden, Sugar factory with the students improves their knowledge
